Similar to the thrust washer, the spacer aids in aligning the housing when losing its shape. The spacer stops the inner hub from moving backward thanks to its vast surface area, which supports reverse thrust loads. In contrast to a thrust washer, it is reliant on the final washer and nut to prevent movement on the shaft. It can withstand reverse thrust loads thanks to the size of its surface area and keeps the inner hub from slipping backward. Due to the last washer and nut, the spacer cannot move farther back.
