On small engines, the primer bulb is a little plastic item that, when squeezed, pulls the fuel from the fuel reservoir and into the carburetor. The carburetor produces combustion by combining the air and fuel.

When the engine is cold, the priming bulb that positions in the fuel line between the gas tank and the motor fills the carburetor with gasoline. The rubber bulb is like an oblong ball. Two valves open and shut inside the bulb. If the priming bulb fails to function correctly, it should be changed.
