To enhance engine performance the control motor regulates the pace at which air flows through a bypass route into the induction system. It is a valve or other mechanism which opens and closes to allow air into the engine. Contaminants may enter the valve chamber because of the control motor valve in and out movement. These impurities or contaminants may clog, jam, or harm the internal workings of the part, leading to a malfunctioning valve.
