Evinrude, Johnson and Gale Outboard Motors CD2 (113-2453)

A pulse coil is a switch that transmits a signal to the capacitor discharge ignition (CDI) module on the outboard. The CDI module rapidly discharges the now higher voltage current into the ignition coil when it gets the trigger signal from the pulser coil.
