The T-STAT HOUSING - Mercury'R (118-1989) is a valve that regulates the outboard's operating temperature by opening to allow cool water to pass through the engine and closing to prevent the water flow from preventing the motor from reaching a satisfactory operational temperature. The thermostat housing controls the coolant intake within the engine compartment. Coolant is in charge of transmitting heat from the engine to the radiator. The thermostat housing is located between the engine and the radiator. The thermostat casing closes when the motor begins to cool below the ambient temperature. The engine's closed-off section permits coolant to circulate and move through the machine effectively.
