This is the COMPLETE SWITCH COMBINATION, which contains both the switch body and the labeled cover. The Tilt/Trim switch cover is available separately. The trim switch on a boat initiates the trim/tilt mechanism, which raises and lowers your outboard motor. The controller has three positions: "Up," "Down," and "Off," with the center terminals directing or disconnecting electrical current, one set of terminals sending power to the "Up" side of the trim/tilt mechanism, and the other set sending energy to the "Down" side. The default setting for the center position is "Off."
