Volvo Pentas Shim is a tapered wedge used to make minor modifications to your engine to make them plumb and level. This will cause a gap between the bottom of the cam and the top of the valve bucket on your machine. This space is required for worn-out valves, although they must also be changed at some point. In addition, the shim is a hardened metal disc in charge of adjusting the clearance between the camshaft lobe and the valve it regulates.
