The gear selector controls by the shift rod and links to the transmission. The shifter handle will not automatically return to neutral once the shift cable breaks. It will be impossible to shift if the horizontal cable breaks. Only third or fourth gear will be available if this happens.
The outboard shift linkage identifies the speed and strength of a boat engine. Change linkage comes between the gear shift lever and the transmission, and tightening it makes the bike shift much more positively. Rust resistance is ensured by the stainless steel rod ends.
