It's a set of four valves, two on each of the hot and cold water pipes below a tankless water heater, that enables you or a service person to flush out any mineral scale buildup inside. Manufacturers refer to it as an "isolator valve kit" or "service valve kit," but plumbers frequently say "flush kit." The top two valves open the pipes to threaded front hose connections, while the bottom two valves isolate it from the home's plumbing system so that vinegar can be circulated through the water heater to remove scale accumulation. A service valve kit is necessary since you cannot flush the system without one and must contact the manufacturer for warranty service if your water heater develops a problem after several years.
