Rotor - Sierra Marine Engine Parts - 18-5429 (118-5429)

Rotors are engineered to turn motion or kinetic energy into thermal heat energy. It sends a signal thru the master brake cylinder to calipers to squeeze the brake pads together against the rotor's large surface area when pressing down on the brake pedal. The rotor is used with select Chris-Craft 283F/327F (Corvette Engine) (8 Cylinder) (1963-1971), Chrysler M318X (8 Cylinder) (1965-1966), and Crusader 185/230/250/280 (8 Cylinder) (1962) inboard ignition systems. Common indicators of rotor failure are vibration in the steering wheel, pulsating brake pedal, grinding when hitting brakes, out of the round rotor, and cracked rotor. Driving with warped rotors is not considered safe when brake rotors become warped. The amount of force moving the steering wheel back and forth may be violent enough to lose control of the steering wheel.
