A chemical aftermarket additive called an "engine flush" is intended to remove built-up deposits, sludge, and another crud from your engine. You put it in the oil-fill port of your engine and let it idle for ten to fifteen minutes. It flows through the engine while combining with the oil to help remove deposits and dissolve sludge. You next change the oil filter, add fresh oil, drain the oil (along with, in theory, a lot of the muck), and resume driving.
