Fuel is delivered to the injectors at a specific pressure by an electric fuel pump. Injectors either directly dispense gasoline into the combustion chamber or onto the intake manifold (manifold injection) (petrol direct injection). The electric fuel pump moves the fuel from the container to the injectors when using manifold injection. The main distinction between mechanical and electrical fuel pumps is that standard pumps draw gas from the tank and push it into the engine using moving parts, electric pumps push gas into the motor using electricity and computer power.
