When you press the primer bulb, there is a vacuum, sucking gas from the fuel tank into the carburetor via the fuel lines. Only a few presses of the primer should provide enough gasoline to mix with the air in the carburetor and be ready for combustion. The operator must press a little rubber button-like device to start the fuel flow from the gas tank into the carburetor. If your priming bulb is not providing proper suction, has a break, or is not creating pressure, you may need to repair or replace it. A priming bulb is necessary because it aids in the proper filling of the carburetor with fuel. It is completed by drawing gas through the fuel line.
