FUEL PRESS REGULATOR (REC885174)

Fuel pressure regulators are vacuum-operated, spring-loaded diaphragms that allow the fuel distribution system of a vehicle to maintain constant pressure. The regulator is open when the vehicle is at rest, allowing fuel to bypass the delivery system and return to the tank. The pressure regulator diaphragm shuts when the engine produces a higher vacuum when under load, increasing the amount of fuel delivered to the injectors while maintaining constant pressure.
