The exhaust mixing elbow carries the cooling salt water and combines it with the exhaust gases from the exhaust manifold. From there, it travels to the muffler, located in the engine mount housing on the port side, and then continues to the exhaust outlet on the port quarter. This exhaust elbow is made excellently from sturdy stainless steel.
