Exhaust bellows are built with an inner slip joint and an outside rib portion that allows for movement while entirely sealing the inner slip joint from leaking. A bellow is used to move your wastegate or exhaust pipes and is also commonly used for turbo manifold cross-over pipes. When producing this type of component, alignment can be difficult at best, especially when utilizing stainless steel, which is known for a lot of movement when welding. When assembling these components, a Bellow will help with alignment. This movement occurs in everyday use as well; when pipes heat up, they expand, which is one of the main reasons to utilize an exhaust below, to allow the pipes to move and expand without stressing other portions of your pipe work.
