EPA PRIMER BULB-5/16" (118-8004EP-1)

The marine aftermarket receives its priming bulbs primarily from Sierra. For a classic appearance and functionality, our bulbs have double-check valves with Viton balls, stainless steel springs, and Fluoroelastomer (FKM) material. Both EPA/CARB approved. Overall length, including barbs, is 7 1/2" or 190.5mm. A primer bulb is crucial because it aids in correctly supplying the carburetor with fuel. It accomplishes this by removing fuel from the fuel line. Small amounts of gas will be pumped into the carburetor by a primer. Contrary to popular perception, starting the engine does not involve squirting a little gas into it. When you try to start the engine, you'll find that it momentarily ignites but does not keep burning.
