Applied on the vertical pontoon supports that connect the deck to your pontoon. Pieces of sheet metal are commonly sharp and can slice through tightened strapping for the perimeter band. It's easy to use, and it protects your strapping and shrinks wrap, so as you apply tension to the perimeter band, it's not left with sheared strapping along the backside and frontside of your pontoons.
