Cylinder HEAD HOSE (118-70937)

The thermostat is connected to the front of the cylinder head by a cylinder HOSE (118-70937) pipe. The cylinder head's heated coolant is drained back to the thermostat via an outlet pipe. On the front of the N54 motor, the plastic connecting to the head is a weak spot and prone to coolant leakage. As an upgrade, there is also a connector made of aluminum (see below). Coolant leaks should be repaired right away since they can damage the belts if it gets to them. This specific hose is a preventative measure to replace because it is simple to update at the same time as a thermostat or water pump replacement.
