The contact-breaker setting is often ignored despite being essential for efficient operation. Contact breakers are another name for ignition contact sets. The primary circuit on the ignition coil to the transistor is flipped using contact point ignition systems. A mechanical switch known as a contact breaker makes or breaks the ignition circuit to deliver a spark to the spark plug. The contact breaker shut off the circuit. The contact breaker is below the distributor cap on engines with distributors. Ideally, the contact breaker should be replaced after 6,000 miles or 10,000 kilometers, or twice a year, and every service should have the gap between them evaluated and rectified.
