Choose your setback. CMC 7" (30-70012) setback plate offers a 7 inches setback on your jack plate, which can improve the performance of your boat. A setback is a distance between the jack plate and the transom. The more setback on the jack plate, the greater the motor's leverage on the boat. This leverage aids in lifting the bow from the water. A setback also keeps the propeller away from the hull's turbulent water. It has the advantage of adding weight to the back of a boat (and thus increasing its overall length), which can help elevate the bow. This motor-mount device is ideal for fine-tuning the height of your outboard engine, and it has a standard performance plate on the bottom to prevent water from splashing up into the unit.
