A bush is a mechanical connection between two potentially moving pieces or a solid connection point between two mechanical assemblies. In an automobile or other vehicle, bushings are used to connect the various moving arms and pivot points to the chassis and other sections of the suspension. It acts as a connector between two parts, absorbing the energy delivered through the bushing. A bushing consisting of rubber (or, more commonly, synthetic rubber or polyurethane) separates the faces of two metal objects while allowing a certain degree of movement in car suspension systems. A bushing is an insulated device in electric power that allows an electrical conductor to safely pass through a grounded conducting barriers, such as the case of a transformer or circuit breaker.
