Self-Adjusting Steering Rod (27"- 28" Medium #31-10004) is a patented, self-adjusting stainless steel rod that connects your boat's main engine to its auxiliary engine. When you use the proprietary System Adjustment, the rod comprises an inner and an outer stainless steel tube. Rod lengths vary as the two engines tilt independently due to the precise tension provided by the Détente. It is possible to tilt each engine up or down while keeping steering control over both machines simultaneously. Using the Self-Adjusting Rod, you may set the pressure between 18 and 20 pounds per square inch. If necessary, you can be tweaked the tension to provide the best results. Make sure to read the instructions in the owner's manual for appropriate installation and tension adjustment. It is not best to lease because it can lead to decreased product performance.
