The stator drives the revolving armature in an electric motor, the stator transforms the rotating magnetic field into electric current. The stator directs fluid flow to and from the spinning element of the system in fluid-powered devices. The corroded lead wires in the standard stator have been improved by CDI Electronics. The stator is flame-proof, tin-coated, solvent-resistant lead wires. The wire is durable and corrosion-proof in the environment of the outboard motor. The Nylon overcoating and loose stator windings in the traditional stators cause overheating in the stator. The stator has tight windings and no nylon covering, allowing heat to drain from the stator winding more efficiently during operation. The design will prolong the life of this critical source of power for the ignition system by using larger magnet wire winding on their capacitor charge coils.
